Freeheld vs Yelp Guest Manager
A Yelp Guest Manager alternative without the monthly bill
Yelp Guest Manager is the least expensive of the big names, and its Basic plan caps you at 500 covers a month. Freeheld costs $1,000 once with no cap, and pays for itself against Basic in about six months. Against Yelp, the price argument is real but smaller, so be honest with yourself about what else matters.

Where Yelp is stronger
- Yelp's own audience. Diners reading your reviews on Yelp can book right there. If Yelp is a big source of guests for you, that matters.
- A waitlist with Yelp presence. Guests can join your line from the Yelp app.
Where Freeheld is different
- No cap and no subscription. Busy month or slow month, the cost is the same: nothing.
- Your booking page, not a listing. Guests book on a page with your name and colors, linked from Google, Instagram and your own site.
- Your guests stay yours. Export everything any day. Open source, and being formed as a cooperative of the restaurants that use it. How that works
Who should stay, who should switch
Stay if Yelp sends you a large share of your guests and you value booking from your Yelp page.
Switch if your guests mostly come from Google, Instagram and your website, you have outgrown the 500-cover cap, or you would rather own your system than rent it. You can keep your Yelp listing either way: point its website link at your Freeheld booking page.
